The Redsteps team are excited to see what digital marketing changes and updates are coming in 2023, and have been discussing what trends we think we will see playing a big impact on the marketing landscape this year. Below are some of the trends we will be keeping an eye on which we thought we would share with you!

DATA SECURITY:
The recent major company data breaches may make some consumers feel less comfortable handing their information over to your business. Ensuring you have a Privacy policy on your website is important, and it’s also just a good reminder to check your own internal data storage and processing practices and make sure it’s all up to scratch. You may now need to sweeten the deal a little more to get potential clients to hand over their information!

SHORT-FORM VIDEO CONTENT:
Video has been the #1 way to engage viewers and followers for the past few years, and with the rise of TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and other short-form content-sharing platforms emerging – we’ve agreed that it’s definitely not going away and worth considering for your social strategy if your products or services are appropriate.

CPC INCREASES
Average advertising cost per click has slowly been creeping up over the last few years, and 2023 is unlikely to be the exception. We’ve noticed that across the board, there’s a need to spend more to remain competitive with average CPC is moving up across all paid platforms.

LESS DISPOSABLE INCOME:
With inflation and rising interest rates, the average shopper has less disposable income so it’s more important than ever to really sell the benefits rather than the features to ensure your product or service is proving to solve a problem for the customer.

PODCASTS:
More and more people are listening to Podcasts, so working alongside podcasters or implementing audio advertising on these mediums could be a great way to get your brand in front of niche audiences. You can trial Youtube, Spotify or Listnr audio ads which are fantastic for brand awareness and recall. They even have voiceover artists which can do the voiceovers for you!

We look forward to seeing the changes and advancements over the coming year! If you’re looking to upgrade or implement some new marketing strategies for 2023, you can book a free consultation with our team to see how we can help!
