Central South Morang are a shopping centre with 15+ retailers located in South Morang. Since 2015 Redsteps have been assisting the centre with their marketing from social media, website maintenance and digital advertising, to in-centre promotions, activations and more.

 

In June 2018 Redsteps created a bag giveaway event at Central South Morang and gave away 250 Central South Morang branded enviro bags to customers at the shopping centre. Redsteps created this event as a way to engage locals while also promoting that Central South Morang support using enviro bags at the centre.

 

To prepare for the activation, Redsteps:

  • Designed the branded enviro bags
  • Ordered and managed bag printing and delivery
  • Created graphics to promote the activation
  • Promoted the giveaway across Facebook and Instagram
  • Created an event page to excite locals about the giveaway
  • Sourced goods for retailers and external providers to be placed in the bags
  • Designed and created the activation area
  • Executed the giveaway

 

The samples and goods that were sourced by Redsteps and placed in each bag given away included H2Coco Coconut Water, Craisins, Dental@Central discounts, Bubba’s Pizza deals and menu + more!

 

The promotion was a great success with all 250 bags given away on the activation day. Locals can now use these bags when shopping at Central South Morang.

In addition, as the major supermarkets such as Woolworths and Coles have phased out single-use plastic bags, the Central South Morang bag giveaway was perfectly timed with the phasing out as customers needed re-usable enviro bags to shop at the Woolworths located at Central South Morang.
